Iroh and Asami (part 1)

It happened faster then a blink of an eye, as Asami watched the fire bender shoot a lighting bolt toward her, "This is it, I'm going to die."she thought to  herself as the lighting closed in, but as fate  would have it General Iroh appeared and jumped in front of her with his arm stretched out intercepting the hot energy,

Gritting his teeth Iroh felt the lighting charge through his body, as he tried his best to redirect the powerful energy. Normally redirecting lighting wouldn't be a big deal, but the unexpected force to his side made him lose his footing. And sent him flying through the air crashing into a lager boulder, and destroying it half of it on impacted.

With dimming vision Iroh saw as Asami ran toward him, unable to move Iroh could feel his heart start to slow down as he watched the two benders get ready to attack Asami. Taking a deep breath Iroh could feel the lighting as it shot through his body, damaged his most if not all of his organs. The lighting needed out, and one way or another. Raising his hand, Iroh aimed in the general direction the benders and released the lighting from his hand.

Watching in horror as Iroh slammed into the boulder, Asami forgot all about the two benders in front of her and make a mad dash toward the General, Asami fell to the ground as a bolt of light shot past her head and exploded behind her.

Sparing a glace back at the now charred bodies, Asami realized what happened. Getting to her feet the young woman closed the distance between her and her protector. "Iroh." she called kneeling down. Receiving no response Asami reached out and nudged his shoulder. "General Iroh..." still no response.

Sliding her arm behind his head, Asami braced Iroh's body with her leg as she pulled him closer to her. Running her eyes over his body, Asami wanted to cried when she spotted a lager rip in Iroh's uniform where a lager buries had started to form Asami wasn't for sure when it happened, but she guessed it must have been when they got separated earlier when they were attack...

Frowning Asami pulled Iroh closer, why did it seem like every time they were alone something always seemed to happen.......(to be continued)
